On the Oregon side of the Columbia River, on the Historic Columbia River highway lies 611-foot Multnomah Falls, the highest waterfall in Oregon.
The waterfall is fed by year-round springs from nearby Larch Mountain, so is an amazing sight at any time of the year.
If the 5 minute walk from the parking lot isn’t close enough for you, you can walk to the concrete Benson Bridge to feel the spray… or if you are really ambitious, you can hike another mile up steep switchbacks to the top of the falls.
From Portland take I-84 eastbound about 30 miles to exit 31 to a parking area. Follow the path under the highway to reach the falls viewing area.
