The Horrors Of The Evil Durian Fruit

On my last three trips to Asia, I’ve wanted to try Durian but never came across it. Durian, is regarded as the kings of fruit of Asia however…. Wikipedia says it best, “the smell evokes reactions of intense disgust, and has been described variously as rotten onions, turpentine, and raw sewage. The persistence of its odor has led to the fruit’s banishment from certain hotels and public transportation in southeast Asia.”

Well I happened to find it today in a grocery store and thought Id take it back to my hotel room for a quick-lunch.

.The Evil Durian.  It smells like it looks, like a turd.

I opened the container slowly and thought… Well that doesn’t smell so bad, took my first bite and found I didn’t like the taste/texture, closed it and took it outside to throw away.

I went to pick up my laundry across the street from the hotel and then went back up to my room and opened the door. Holy. . My room smells like I’ve had food poisoning for days.

Housekeeping is definitely gonna hate.  I hope I don’t get fined for this, “Error.”
